Golf Course Rules and Regulations
Chateau Golf and Country Club and the golf staff would like to remind you of a few rules and regulations to make your membership here more enjoyable.Pro Shop Policies
We require all members and their guests to register in the golf shop prior to playing. This policy pertains to walkers as well as riders, for the following reasons:- Management keeps an accurate account of the number of rounds played.
- The golf shop needs to be aware who is on the golf course in case of an emergency.
- Golf shop staff members are not allowed to sign membership tickets.
- Golf course maintenance may have special instructions for play on that day.
- Our staff likes to keep members informed about daily golf operations.
Golf Course and Driving Range Dress Code
Chateau Golf and Country Club is a professional facility. We would like our members and their guests to dress in accordance with our professional image. It is the responsibility of members to ensure that their guests adhere to our established dress code:- Golf shirts must have a collar. Ladies and juniors (non-college students) will be allowed to wear dress T-shirts. Ladies may wear sleeveless shirts.
- Shorts must be walking length only. No swimming trunks, tennis shorts, cut-offs, jogging or gym attire will be allowed.
- Pants must be casual or dress slacks only. Absolutely no denim (blue) jeans, zubas, warm- ups, or sweat pants.
- Shoes must be SPIKELESS golf or tennis shoes only. No baseball or football cleats, high heels, ripple soles, or potentially damaging gear will be allowed on the golf course or practice area at any time. Our facility is a spikeless golf facility. If you are wearing metal spikes, we ask that you have them changed in the golf shop prior to playing.
- Shirts must be tucked in and caps should be worn with the brim forward.
Golf Course Etiquette
- Please allow faster groups to play through.
- Groups who feel they are being held up may politely ask the slower group to play through. If the group does not comply, then please ask a golf pro or ranger to intervene.
- Please be reminded that only threesomes and foursomes can play on weekend and holiday mornings. We will try to pair singles and twosomes, but if you play as a twosome or threesome, you must expect to pace yourself as a foursome.
- Fivesomes are allowed during the week and after 12:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
Slow play arises because of delays between shots rather than time spent taking shots. To help speed up play, think about your next shot, then select club and proceed to your ball while others are hitting.
Our goal is for an 18 hole round of golf to take four hours or less - even on busy days!
Courtesy on the Golf Course
We ask that our members and their guests remain aware and respect our homeowners along the golf course.- Please do not drive your golf cart in or around someone's yard.
- If your golf ball lands in someone's yard, please do not go into the yard to look for your ball. Treat it as a lost ball.
- Remind your guests that restrooms are available in the golf shop, cart house, cabana, and after the 15th hole. (Relief from ground under repair applies to golf only. Use the restroom facilities for the relief for which they were intended.)
Guest Policy
Guests are allowed to play Chateau Golf and Country Club when accompanied by a member and will be charged the applicable rate.On weekends and holidays before 11:00 a.m. a member is allowed to bring only one guest (in a foursome 2 guests per 2 members), as these are high priority tee times for our membership.
Chateau members are responsible for their guests' conduct, etiquette, dress code non-metal spike rule, etc. when guests are on the golf course.
Note: Guests are allowed to play without a member, however, the tee time must be made by the member and the guest fee will be subject to a higher rate. Again, these times cannot be made on weekends or holidays before 11:00 a.m. Also, children 21 and older are considered guests and guest fees will apply.
Our insurance company will not allow the operation of the club's golf cart fleet by anyone who does not have a license to operate a motor vehicle, as our players must be insured to operate a golf cart as they are considered an automobile.
Care of the Course
The following mandatory rules will will help ensure optimum course condition.- Damage to Greens All ball marks made by a player shall be carefully repaired. Please approach the greens from the front, as ball marks are more visible on the putting surface from that direction. Do not damage the greens by leaning on your putter or replacing the flagstick in the hole.
- Divots - Through the Green A player who makes a divot shall replace the divot or fill in the divot hole with sand from the bottle located on your golf cart.
- Damage Through Practice Swings Please avoid causing damage to the golf course, particularly to the tees and greens when making practice swings.
- Bunkers Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully smooth over all holes and footprints.
- The 90 Degree Rule Carts must remain on the paths at all times, especially on the par 3 holes. When carts are allowed on the golf course in accordance with the 90 rule, please drive directly to your ball then back to the cart path. (Do not drive up and down the fairway from the tee to the green.)
Tee Times
- Have your foursome scheduled in advance.
- Tee times are made two days in advance - no exceptions.
- Golf staff will begin taking times at 8:00 a.m. with the first thirty minutes reserved for phone calls only.
- Please be prompt for your tee time.
- Please cancel your time if you cannot make it.
If you cannot keep a tee time, please call the golf shop and cancel so that the time can be given to someone else. No group will be allowed on the course without a tee time.
All rules established at Chateau are to benefit all of our members and their guests. A 30-day education program will be given to help our members better understand and implement our local rules. Effective January 1, 1999, our golf course rangers were authorized to issue warnings with possible resulting fines to repeat offenders. Ultimately, violators may be expelled from the club.
If you have any questions on our rules and regulations, please do not hesitate to ask the golf staff. Thank you for your cooperation and support as you enjoy your membership privileges here at Chateau Golf and Country Club.
